Hello, I'm Lauren. I graduated from the esteemed University of Iowa Nursing Program. I now have 15 years acute cardiac nursing experience. I married my husband right after taking my nursing boards, and while his job took us across the country for a time, we are now settled at home with our three sons, all in elementary school. We lead a family-oriented lifestyle, prioritizing our property and fresh foods, and I enjoy cooking from scratch to avoid unnecessary ingredients. When I'm not at home, you can find me at the gym or cheering on my kids at their sports practices.

As I've evolved as a person, mother, and nurse, I've recognized significant shortcomings in our healthcare system. My personal health experiences have led me to numerous specialists, only to be sent back without clear answers, leaving me to navigate on my own. My mission is to change this narrative. While systemic changes may be slow, I prefer to focus on positive, forward-thinking solutions. Together, we can implement new strategies to provide exceptional care.

This vision inspired Whole Story. I aspire to have a highly trained and knowledgeable nurse on every personal healthcare team. Initially, I considered becoming a nurse practitioner, but I realized that the education path didn't align with my goals. I didn't want to prescribe more medications or navigate insurance billing, nor did I want to be limited to brief patient interactions. So, I quickly pivoted.

I pursued training in nutrition and functional medicine in affiliation with The Institute for Functional Medicine, which deepened my understanding of disease processes and root cause analysis. By grasping the underlying issues, we can address the root causes of health problems. I often ask my clients, "When was the last time you felt well?" and we begin our journey from there. Knowledge empowers us, and I aim to provide you with the freedom that comes from understanding your unique health blueprint.
